GREAT WORK: This year we have had a number of messages on the theme of discipleship. Here is an encouragement from Peter Mead: “Before we are anything else in the church world, we are disciples of Jesus. Whatever ministry we may be involved in, whatever position we may hold, we are disciples of Jesus.”

PSALM 103~ EVERLASTING, STEADFAST LOVE TOWARD THOSE WHO FEAR THE LORD: We read through Psalm 103 together as a church last Sunday. Here Ryan Higginbottom digs down and offers some application.

THE PURPOSE OF SUNDAY IS THE RE-EVANGELIZATION OF THE PEOPLE OF GOD: I really like Jared Wilson's writing. Here is a short article about the gospel purposes of the Sunday gathering. "Christians need the gospel as much as lost people do. Not in the same way, of course. But just as much... What we do in our church services, then, ought to be seen as orchestrating another needed encounter with the glory of Jesus in his gospel".

FIGHTING FEAR AND ANXIETY: It is not an understatement to say there is a worldwide epidemic of anxiety that goes beyond any pandemic! Here Keith Mathison writes an exellent article on both the source and misplaced response to fear: “The world is fearful and anxious, but it is fearful and anxious about the wrong things.”

THE REMAINING FREE E-BOOKS FROM TGC: This has been a constant part of Wednesday Webwatch over the past several weeks. This will be the last notification, as TGC have let us know what the remaining books wil be. I'll leave it to you now! We hope you have enjoyed some great free books as part of TGC’s Summer (our winter!) Book Giveaway. Today we released the 10th of 12 free eBooks— Coming Home: Essays on the New Heaven and New Earth. Next week you will be able to download Joyfully Spreading the Word, edited by Kathleen Nielson and Gloria Furman, and the week of August 16 you will be able to get Christ Has Set Us Free, edited by D. A. Carson and Jeff Robinson Sr. At TGC our aim is to support the church by providing resources that are trusted and timely, winsome and wise, centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ. In a world that constantly tries to distract us and pull us away from the gospel, we want to be a source of encouragement to believers striving to stay centered on the gospel.
