Our essential beliefs are those doctrines on which our faith is built. They are timeless and will not be compromised or changed in our ever-evolving culture.
What we believe:
The Bible
The whole Bible is God’s word written by chosen men. It was without error in the original writings and is the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of the world and the final authority for Christian faith, life and conduct.
God
There is one eternal God who exists as three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things, visible and invisible.
Jesus Christ
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God who became man through conception by the Holy Spirit and virgin birth.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. Every believer in Jesus Christ is born of the Holy Spirit and is baptised into one body, the Church, of which Christ is the Head. The Holy Spirit guides, instructs and empowers the believer for godly living and service.
Satan
Satan is a distinct personality, the author of all evil and is destined to eternal punishment.
Humanity
The first man, Adam, was created by God in His own image. However, he sinned against God and became subject to death. From that time, the whole human race came under the penalty of sin which is death and eternal separation from God. Each person has failed to meet God’s standards and is responsible for his/her actions.
Salvation
The only basis for salvation is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All who repent of sin before God and receive Jesus Christ as Saviour by personal faith are born into God’s family. This salvation is not the result of human effort or merit and can never be lost.
The Lord's Return
The personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent. At this time all believers will be united with Christ in heaven. He will judge the unrepentant and reign over the universe forever as sovereign Lord.
Baptism and the Lord's Supper
Baptism and the celebration of the Lord’s Supper are the privilege and responsibility of every Christian.
