WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT JESUS IS PROPHET, PRIEST, AND KING?: Jonty Rhodes (no, not the South African Cricketer!) has written an excellent article pointing us to the fullness of Christ. “Theologians down the centuries have often spoken of Jesus’s threefold office. Jesus has one office, that of Messiah or Christ. He is the anointed one, the one mediator between God and man, the Savior. But this office has three aspects to it: those of prophet, priest, and king.”
THE UNBELIEF IN MY BELIEF: I am always both encouraged and challenged by Glenna Marshall's posts. Here, she considers those little opportunities we get (and often fail to take) to share the gospel. “You are just a messenger of a good, good message. You can share it with hope instead of fear when you entrust every conversation to the Lord. His ways will not be thwarted by stammering or awkward silences.”
HARD TO OFFEND, EASY TO PLEASE: Matt Smethurst encourages us to live in the most excellent of ways! “Cynicism. It’s now in the air we breathe, the thoughts we indulge, the words we whisper, the comments we post. Is this really avoidable, though?”
LOST AND FOUND (FREE E-BOOK): I have been linking to the Gospel Coalition's free e-book each. This week is 'Lost and Found', which is edited by Collin Hansen. "There are many paths to lose your way. And only one way to find it. So said Jesus of Nazareth, the most compelling and controversial teacher of all time. This book aims to make sense of his counterintuitive claim: Unless we lose our lives for his sake, we will never discover our true selves".
